Workout Crown Privacy Policy

Workout Crown (“the app”) helps you track which workout types you have completed on your Apple Watch. This policy explains what the app reads, what leaves your device, and what you can control.

There is no Workout Crown account. You never give us an email address or a password.

Apple Health

With your permission, the app reads your workout history from Apple Health. From each workout it uses:

• the workout type (for example Running, Yoga, Rowing)
• the date and time it ended
• its duration

It also requests heart rate and active energy so a workout started from the app’s Apple Watch companion can display live metrics while it runs.

Health data is read only. The app never writes to Apple Health except to save a workout you start from it, and never uses Health data for advertising or marketing. You can withdraw access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Workout Crown.

What other people can see

That shared record contains:

• Your display name. This is generated by the app, such as SwiftSwimmer-4821. You can generate a new one at any time. You cannot type your own, so it never contains your real name unless you put it somewhere else.
• Your crown count — how many workout types you have completed.
• Which workout types you have completed — the list of types, so the app can show how rare each one is. It does not include dates, durations, heart rate, distance, or any other detail of an individual workout.
• An anonymous iCloud identifier that Apple provides to the app. It is specific to Workout Crown and cannot be used to identify you outside it.

Nothing else leaves your device for the leaderboard. Your individual workouts, your streaks, and your dates stay on your device and in your own private iCloud.

Challenges you share

If you create a challenge and invite someone, the challenge — its name, dates, target, and each participant’s display name and progress — is shared through Apple iCloud with the people you invited. Only people you send the invitation to can see it. Leaving or deleting a challenge removes your progress from it.

Analytics

The app sends a small number of product events to PostHog, hosted in the European Union, so we can see which features are used. The events are:

• progress_synced — how many workout types you have completed, and the total
• leaderboard_viewed — which leaderboard tab was opened
• challenge_created — a challenge’s target and how many types it covers
• invite_sent, invite_accepted — that an invitation was sent or accepted

PostHog also records standard device and app information such as the device model, operating system version, app version, and crash reports. This is used to understand and fix problems in the app. It is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not combined with data from other apps or websites.

Stored on your device

Your streaks, pinned workout types, settings, and the state of the widget are stored on your device and shared with the Workout Crown widget and Apple Watch app. They are not sent to us.

Notifications

If you turn notifications on, the app schedules reminders on your device — for a streak that ends tonight, or a challenge falling behind. They are created and delivered locally by iOS. No notification server is involved and no data is sent to us to produce them.

What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
• We do not show advertising, and we do not use your data for advertising.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites, and the app asks for no tracking permission.
• We do not use Apple Health data for marketing, or share it with anyone.

Your choices

• Health access — revoke it in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Workout Crown. The app keeps working; it just stops seeing new workouts.
• Notifications — turn them off in the app, or in Settings → Notifications → Workout Crown.
• Your display name — generate a new one in the app at any time.
• Leave the leaderboard — email us at the address below and we will delete your shared record. Deleting the app also removes its data from your device.

Children

Workout Crown is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
